WASTEWISE takes part in European Commission workshop on food loss and waste research

On 24 October 2025, Hanna Hartikainen, Scientific Coordinator of WASTEWISE from the Natural Resources Institute Finland (LUKE), presented the project’s objectives and approach during a European Commission webinar that brought together several EU-funded research and innovation projects working on food loss and waste.

The event gathered coordinators from 14 ongoing and recently concluded projects, along with European Commission representatives, to share insights, discuss challenges and opportunities in the sector, and reflect on how research outcomes can inform future strategies. The discussions also explored policy needs and priorities under the Food 2030 framework and its successor initiatives.
