WASTEWISE shares its Multi-Actor Approach experience at Rural Pact Policy Action Lab
From 29 September to 1 October 2026, WASTEWISE member Cristian Popescu from the National University of Science and Technology Politehnica Bucharest participated in the Policy Action Lab “Strengthening a diversified rural economy in the post-2027 period”, held in Kotka, Finland.
Organised by the Rural Pact Support Office in cooperation with the Finnish Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, the Finnish Rural Network and the Finnish Rural Policy Council, the event brought together members of the Rural Pact Community to exchange experiences and discuss ways to strengthen rural economies within the post-2027 EU policy framework.
During the Policy Action Lab, Cristian Popescu presented the WASTEWISE experience in establishing Multi-Actor Platforms (MAPs). He highlighted the value of the Multi-Actor Approach in bringing together stakeholders with different perspectives, knowledge and interests, fostering dialogue and supporting collaborative approaches to complex challenges.
The event provided an opportunity for WASTEWISE to share lessons learned from its work with MAPs, while exchanging experiences with colleagues from across Europe.
