WASTEWISE lecturers at the DS-FOOD summer school

From 5 to 12 July 2026, several WASTEWISE members are taking part in the 6th edition of the DS-FOOD summer school, which explores the design of sustainable food systems. The event will take place at the Alpine Study Centre in Pieve Tesino, Italy.

Organised by the Università degli Studi della Tuscia in collaboration with international partners, the summer school features an interactive programme of lectures, seminars, field visits and workshops exploring key issues related to the sustainability of food systems. The main topics covered reflect the four pillars of the Farm-to-Fork EU strategy, combining the sustainability of production, food processing and distribution, and consumption, as well as the prevention of food waste.

The event brings together students and lecturers from various European universities in an exceptional natural setting.
