WASTEWISE Donostia – Bilbao Meeting Photo Gallery
DAY 1
The first day of the meeting focused on the Joint Stakeholder Discussion Workshop, bringing together consortium partners and stakeholders from the Multi-Actor Platforms established in Italy, Romania, Switzerland, Spain, Sweden, and Finland. Participants exchanged experiences and discussed national approaches to food waste prevention, including policy measures, challenges and opportunities, actions to meet EU food waste reduction targets, as well as potential measures, indicators, and awareness-raising initiatives for future prevention plans.
A participatory session was also held to validate the WASTEWISE Food Waste Priority Matrix, gathering feedback on key indicators for identifying priority food categories related to food waste quantity, their environmental impact, their nutritional importance, and their economic impact.
DAY 2
On the second day of the consortium meeting, all participants, including project partners and stakeholders representing the five MAPs of WASTEWISE, travelled to the Bilbao Exhibition Centre, where the Food4Future international summit took place. WASTEWISE held its First Dissemination Workshop at the Demo Stage, presenting the project’s overall approach, the challenges it addresses in relation to food waste, and its first results, and engaging attendees from outside the project. The event also included a meeting with the sister project PRECIOUS, with a focus on identifying areas for collaboration and future networking, as both projects are strongly policy-oriented.
DAY 3
On the third and last day of the WASTEWISE consortium meeting, an overview of the work progress was shared by the leaders of the different work packages that comprise the project: data collection on food waste quantities, assessment of the environmental impact of food waste, priorities and scenarios of food waste prevention and reduction, and the pathway toward policy action for food waste reduction, including the contribution of the MAPs.
