WASTEWISE at the First Catalan Congress on Food Loss and Waste

On 22 September, the Institut d’Estudis Catalans in Barcelona hosted the First Congress on Food Loss and Waste, organised by the Generalitat de Catalunya. Experts from academia, public institutions and industry attended the event. The WASTEWISE Espigoladors team participated alongside Céline Giner from the OECD, who is also a member of our External Advisory Board.

During the session on public policies and social innovation for the prevention of food loss and waste, Berta Vidal Monés from Espigoladors presented some of WASTEWISE’s work on how food loss and waste are currently addressed in European regulations and how they intersect with other policy areas, such as climate action, energy efficiency, agriculture, public procurement and social rights.
