5 December 2025 By

On 4-5 December 2025, the 2nd progress meeting of WASTEWISE was held at the National University of Science and Technology Politehnica Bucharest, in the Romanian capital.

The consortium met to present the results achieved so far in the first project year and discuss the work to be carried out during the next months.

The project has reached a pivotal point, with the first research results emerging. These results will form the basis for the next steps. These include the initial findings on the quantity of food waste reported by member states to Eurostat, the work carried out to integrate the environmental impact of food waste into the overall assessment, and the evaluation of European-level policies across areas that could be linked to the prevention and reduction of food loss and waste.

The meeting was characterised by a collaborative atmosphere, with discussion focused on potential dissemination activities and attendance at major food waste conferences. Exciting times lie ahead, so stay tuned!
