On the third and last day of the WASTEWISE consortium meeting, an overview of the work progress was shared by the leaders of the different work packages that comprise the project: data collection on food waste quantities, assessment of the environmental impact of food waste, priorities and scenarios of food waste prevention and reduction, and the pathway toward policy action for food waste reduction, including the contribution of the MAPs.

The overall assessment has been that the project is advancing exactly as expected, with all tasks remaining firmly on schedule. A major highlight of the event was the active engagement of the MAP representatives, who showed great interest in the project’s findings and contributed significantly to the technical discussions. Above all, the excellent atmosphere within the project was palpable throughout the three days, with a prevailing warm, constructive, and highly collaborative environment

WASTEWISE is now entering its next phase, where all the results and milestones achieved will serve as scaffolds for continuing to construct strategies and methodologies for food waste reduction and avoidance.
